Compatibility
Being web-based allows us to work on any computer, operating system, and device. Without using this method we would need to make a different version for each operating system and device. This would raise expenses, create versioning issues, and slow the upgrade process.

Storage
It frees photos from being on one computer. This really comes into play for all our customers that are sharing accounts and responsibilities for checking cameras (without having to bring the photos back to one computer).

Updates
Probably the biggest issue comes down to updates. We are continually updating and adding new features. Web-based software allows us to easily make updates without anyone having to install the latest updates.
